Exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health nurse seeking a dynamic leadership role in the community!

As part of the Housing First Health MDT for Dublin, Ana Liffey Drug Project is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (Mental Health)

The Housing First model aims to provide a person sleeping rough, or someone who has been long-term homeless and/ or whom has at least one high support need such as a substance use disorder, mental health issue etc. with their own secure accommodation as well as access to intensive and specialised support services. Housing First is a participant-centered model that focuses on ending homelessness for people who have been homeless for many years or who are particularly vulnerable.

In 2025, Ana Liffey Drug Project and Coolmine Therapeutic Community are joining force to provide the Housing First Health MDT for Dublin. The team will be led by the ADON post, who will be an employee of Ana Liffey Drug Project. The Housing First ADON will lead the MDT in all clinical decision making, fidelity to the Housing Forst model and interagency work. The MDT will consist of CNMs in Mental Health and Disabilities, RGNs, Occupational Therapists and Psychologists.

The suitable candidate for the Housing First CNM1 – Mental Health post will be a registered nurse in the Mental Health Division with a strong understanding of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and recovery-focused practice. They will have experience working with people who have complex mental health needs and who may also be experiencing homelessness, addiction, or social exclusion. The candidate will be committed to the principles of Housing First and will be service user centered, working with all Housing First participants regardless of their motivation, behaviours and lifestyles.

  • SALARY: €61,443 per annum.
  • HOLIDAY: 25 days exclusive of bank holidays (pro rata)
  • TEAM: Housing First Health MDT
  • RESPONSIBLE TO: Assistant Director of Nursing

They will have a strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support, HIQA standards, and community-based disability care. The candidate will be committed to the principles of Housing First and will be service user centered, working with all Housing First participants regardless of their motivation, behaviours and lifestyles.

ANA LIFFEY DRUG PROJECT ARE CLINICAL NURSE MANAGER 1 (CNM1) FOR OUR DUBLIN SERVICES

Ana Liffey Drug Project (ALDP) is a low-threshold, harm-reduction organisation dedicated to supporting people affected by problem substance use. We deliver accessible, evidence-based services in a dignified and respectful environment, meeting the complex needs of people who use drugs and other marginalised groups in Dublin.

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) to join our Low Threshold Nursing Team, providing clinical leadership and professional support while delivering primary care interventions to service users in both in-reach and outreach settings. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse with a passion for harm reduction and working with marginalised communities.

Suitable candidates will meet the following criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) in the relevant division
  • Minimum 3 years post-registration experience, including at least 1 year in a related area (addiction, primary care, or mental health)
  • Experience in harm reduction and supporting marginalised communities
  • Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Commitment to ALDP’s low-threshold, harm-reduction ethos

Working hours are arranged between 7am and 7pm Monday to Friday.
