Our Family Care and Case Management work is one of our responses to working with families and the children of families who are living with the reality of problematic drug use. The overall aim of this work is “To Promote and Support high quality parenting and to enhance the quality of life for children whose parents use drugs”. Our social work qualified Project Worker works as part of our integrated project team, engaging with people in our open access drop-in service.
The Ana Liffey Drug Project works in partnership with families, and indeed the wider community (e.g. schools, extended family, etc.), to create realistic and manageable care plans. These care plans are influenced by solution focused methods and models of practice which aim to build up the resilience of families and children to cope with reality of living with problematic drug use.
The focus of our work with families is to improve their quality of life.
