Since May 2010, ALDP have been running an Arrest Referral Pilot Scheme in partnership with An Garda Síochána.
People who have become involved with the Criminal Justice System are offered support in addressing their substance misuse issues by ALDP staff. These individuals are referred to ALDP by An Garda Síochána or can self refer.
The ALDP Arrest Referral workers have been onsite in Store Street Garda Station since October 2010 offering brief interventions as required.
Arrest Referral aims to impact positively on the individual and the wider community by offering a gateway into support services for those who are accused of committing crimes which are related to their substance misuse.
