Mid West Region

Background

In May 2012, Ana Liffey began offering a low threshold, addiction service in the Mid-West Region. This work takes place in partnership with other agencies and services in the region.

Catchment Area

The ALDP Mid-West region provides a low threshold, harm reduction service in Limerick City, as well as counties Limerick and Clare and in North Tipperary. As with all our services, we work in an open and empathic way with people using drugs, their families and the wider community.

  • In the Midwest, ALDP works in partnership with the Partnership for Health Equity to provide a GP clinic during open access service hours which are on Wednesday afternoons from 2pm – 5pm. Any persons can see the GP by either an appointment or simply by a drop-in basis. At this appointments, the GP can attend to wound care, emergency health needs, or give antibiotics for infections.
  • On a Thursday afternoon from 2pm-5pm this service is also available at the St. Vincent De Paul drop in Service, Ozanam House, Hartstonge Street, Limerick and an Ana Liffey Project worker is also available to offer support.
