The ALDP has been providing Low Threshold, Harm Reduction services to people in the North Inner City since 1982. We provide services from two premises at 48 & 51 Middle Abbey Street today. Across these two building we offer a wide variety of Low Threshold, Harm Reduction Services that offer pathways to individuals out of their current circumstance including addiction and homelessness. These include:

  • Drop In facilities
  • Key working and Case Management
  • Medical Services - full time nurse and Safetynet Surgery
  • Peer Support Programme
  • Pre-entry Programme in conjunction with Coolmine T.C.
  • Family Support
  • Assertive Outreach
  • Adult literacy & Computer literacy
  • Communications – Fetac Level 4 accredited
  • Holistics – Massage, Auricular acupuncture and Stress balls
  • Inreach from Threshold
  • Inreach from Clancy Night Shelter, Depaul Ireland

We also provide services off-site and in partnership with other agencies. These include:

  • Needle Exchange
  • Men’s Prison Programme in Mountjoy Prison
  • Arrest Referral

The ALDP is committed to impacting positively on our neighbourhood and the wider community. We are active in managing anti-social behaviour in the area and in return receive ongoing support from the local business community, particularly Dublin City BID Ltd.
